The Sweetest angel in my life (whom I liked and realized this only after loosing her) was still haunting me in my dreams, don’t worry I am not a Dev D, its just some innocent feelings that one regrets for not realizing at the right time , ultimately you accept in the end, a little irresponsible conversation can disturb the relationships, which took years of faith, warmth and feelings to build, this is the time when you feel like meeting up your old buddies who know you did the right thing by letting her go and the things were just unfortunate.
So here was the plan.. I was going to meet my closest friends after an year, I could feel the excitement within, and was trying to divert my dreams from past to present. It was at 10 O’clock feb the 14th when a call woke me up. A beautiful morning indeed, one of the friends had finally landed up and chose to stay at Gurgaon for a day instead of Delhi, though we had already planned for long biking trip on valentines day but her coming to gurgaon instead of Delhi was a beautiful surprise. I woke up, and called Sid to tell we would be reaching Noida by the afternoon, then got ready, confirmed the address, wiped my bike (it’s a regular habit now) and throttled the engine which roared as if being angry for being awaken, within few seconds it was purring like a tamed cat, then begins the journey without knowing what god has planned for the day. Weather was pleasant; I really feel proud when every one watches me on the roads (I am still getting accustomed to it ...). these fugitive glances are not for me, they are for the bike (which of course back seaters like Bhatia Dude argue that he is looking a bit smarter and all the babes are watching him :P ).I reached her place by noon, called her up to come at the parking. It’s been a long time since we last met, probably after one and a half years; I could not suppress my excitement and happiness. We met last in pune. The CCD near her house was the best hangout place for our group. I was engulfed in those pune memories when saw her coming down. It seems like nothing changed her in these 1.5 years, that same friendly aroma, the same smile, and that same bubbly nature. We greeted each other and then she took a look at my highly esteemed possession. She was really excited to see such a wonderful piece of ride. We went upstairs and talked long and short about the good old pune days, the silly reasons why I came to gurgaon, and how every one moved out, about the uncertain future, about past and present, when we felt like eating something. We ordered those awesome chicken tikkas (something I cannot resist and always end up over eating) which made me drowsy and I had to take the call to sleep in the back room. I told Sid we would be reaching now by the evening, after all his marriage due on 16th, the reason we all got together from different places of India.
Some one came in the room I was awake by the disturbance, looked at the watch it was clocking 4:30. Damn it! We were to reach Noida by this time. Anyhow nothing could be done for being late, Sid will understand (infact he would wish to be here to enjoy the tikkas). Finally we started off from her place. I was really happy to see her small bag (few of those gals who do not believe in carrying many clothes in a marriage function), we thought we could easily manage to Noida with this bag on bike. I and my bike were chuckling as she was the first gal to sit on this new ride(I m thankful to her for keeping her promise). The highways were pleasant, with zero traffic around, we were breezing at 60-70, in soothing mood, chitting-chatting and enjoying the attention of the glancing looks of passerby’s. It was only when we reached to Delhi, we felt the real heat of traffic, with a bike like this under your control, lousy traffic of Delhi can irritate you and your partner like anything. We changed our plans 1st we would go to Shubhi’s place to meet her and also get rid of the bag and then we’ll proceed on to Sid (who was waiting for us eagerly, as we were to be his angel messenger to deliver his valentine’s gift to Shubhi back on the way). After crossing the traffic we faced the smooth roads again, every thing was beautiful until we realized we were going the wrong way. Damn it again! At last after some twists and turns we reached at Shubhi’s place, and were lucky enough to reach at the right time (she was leaving for the parlour). we took a short rest, ate something met everyone and then finally decided to move ahead to Noida. Wow! After riding continuously for 2-3 hours our butts were aching. Looking forward at this pathetic traffic I said ‘Forget Noida!’ my devilish mind was working on some good places in Delhi to visit... What about CP (I thought she love brands and would love it) ? Chandni Chowk ( I love food and could have tried something new) ?, Delhi Haat (Indian Traditional food with loads of traditional merchandize) ? Yepp that’s the place she would like (all girls like Delhi Haat ;)) we finally squeezed out of traffic (the sound of my bike changed as it does not like low speeds...) reached Delhi Haat to enjoy a colorful evening visiting one shop to another, scrutinizing and enjoying everything to finally end up in purchasing a wallhanging, three stolls and jodhpur kachoris. By this time Sid was furious but he understood the situation and dropped the hope that I will travel any further ;). The day was ending and so our kachoris and those colourful delhi haat moments which we captured on cam to record forever, It was time to move back to Shubhi’s place for the cocktail party. After some leg pulling (I am accustomed to it now …) by Shubhi and Sid on phone we all enjoyed the DJ nite, the dance, the drinks, and the food. I was happy to be back with all those whom I was missing, I looked up to god, thanked him for giving me such wonderful friends and wonderful moments on the valentines day. I am penning this narration to remember these beautiful moments and the journey forever. Perhaps valentines day can be enjoyed even in the company of a good and understanding friend :).
